When you decided to be happy

This is one of the best videos I've watched and my second favourite speech after Steve Job's 'connecting the dots' .

SIA  : "He said I hope you're happy and successful in everything you do."
Man :  " Are you? "
SIA  :  #paused a moment " Yeah"
Man :   " Can you believe it? "
SIA :    " I uh...I do spend a lot of time like pinching myself. I have to say it's been pretty amazing oh..I'm crying. It's been really amazing, the last couple of years have been, since I've made the decision to just take care of my own sanity and serenity and stuff. My life's just improved so much. And I'm honestly surprised that things are working out. "

In Her Polkadot Shoes

Hi everyone!
Happy International Woman's Day! :)

I've just finished marathoning 3 episodes of Carrie Diaries Season 2..
So last-year, i know. :p
But, the exitement of watching fashion spread in life-drama motions is always a temptation.

Comparing Carrie Diaries to Mr.Robot, House M.D. , or Vampire Diaries would be an unfair deed. I love each of them, in every possible different way they make me feel.
In Carrie, I'd be expecting a teenage-life drama, and also life of a suburban girl who dreams to be a great writer, and is working her way in a fashion magezine.

With Mr.Robot, I'd be expecting conflicts, mind-conflicts.
But in its own way, it excites me just like Carrie does.

I can say, if you were expecting real and unexpected TV drama, it wouldn't be Carrie Diaries.
I'd refer you to Game of Thrones and Mr.Robot.
But, if you were a girl, or a woman, who's on your way working on your dreams, Carrie Diaries would be a recommendation.
At the end of the day, little touch of fashion spread can never hurt a woman. :)

Happy Day People.
xoxo
Gladys.

Burning Heat

Hi everyone..
It's February, and Padang is already heating like burning fire.
Mood is always the-sun-is-scary-outside-I'll-just-stay-home.

You know it's nice to know who you really are.
Even if you're a jerk, it's a good thing.
And sometimes, embracing it is one of the greatest value one can have.

Let's strip.
It's the regeneration time in every student organisation in campus.
And honestly, it's also the "SICK-OF-IT" phase.

This lately I've been like "should I apply?" "what will I get?" "what if I get bored in the middle and ruin stuff?"
But now I'm just like "Whatever."
There will come a time I know exactly what I want and why I want it.

Bang Yanda : " Gladys, kamu tuh kritis, bagus. Tapi kamu kurang CIMSA. "

One of the conversation we had in Project Team gossiping meeting time.

At times I'm like " Should I smile and say hi to every CIMSA member I know, so it shows how much I love CIMSA? "
Especially in this regeneration time, I feel a bit biased if I wanna say hi to my senior in CIMSA and who is also the Executive Board.
I'd say to myself  " What are you doing bitch? Trying to win their heart to vote for you, to trust you?"

So I end up keeping it to myself or just smile. -_-"

I know.
But, whatever.

I also understand that appreciation is a must.
I mean it's not a big thing to say "thank you" or "you've been a good help".
For nothing people do to us is really his compulsary.

So, yeah in the middle of the boiling afternoon in Padang, I wish you all a happy and joyfull time for the rest of the day.

XOXO

Water Under The Bridge

" If you're gonna let me down, Let me down gently
Don't pretend that you don't want me
Our love ain't water under the bridge."                                            Adele -  Water under The Bridge

Hi peeps!
How's life? Wonderful, I hope. :)

It's too long since I wrote my fave things.
So today's post will be about my recent "dope" things :

1. Adele's 25 Album
I downloaded the whole album when I was in Jakarta last week. And I just listened to it today. Turnt out I'm so into Water Under The Bridge. I love the intro, it sounds so "inviting" ;)

2. Chemical Peeling
So my acne out-break has been on its "challenging" phase. XD
And I've been on some pills given by the dermatologist, who is also my lecturer, for almost a month. And last Monday, my visit was to have a chemical peeling.
It IS always an excrutiating pain when the peeling is put on your face.
And I gotta be honest, if I could scream, I would. But since it's a clinic, and there are other patients, I don't want them thinking the doctor is skinning me or something. :p

So yeah, after the undeniable pain, the chemical peeling works beautifully gross. :)
It makes your skin to literally peel off, so the dead skin can be regenerated.
You will look a lot like a snake on its scale-changing phase.

Close enough XD

3. Empowered me
I've had problems with self-worth, self-esteem for long time due to underlying predisposising events.
It's funny that my out-break problem was just a precipitating agent.
( I learnt this term on dr. Arina's psychosomatic class ) ;)

Funny how my most-worried thoughts, actually came true.
I went to CIMSA's National Leadership Summit in Jogja and CIMSA's Training New Trainer Regional in Riau with my still-inflamed-all-over skin.

It's surprising how I was as calm as sleeping baby in a normally-traumatizing experience, yet I was crazy on thought about taking this semester off because I couldn't handle "people looking, asking, and symphatizing about my condition".
Silly, right?

From what happened this whole one month, I get to learn, a lot.

I was mentally sick. And I am very blessed to have myself, my Mamak, Cia, Bapak, Jo around.

I am who I am now. And I accept my past, my present, and am thrieving for my future now.

And I finally got what Mamak always tells me.
You can't just take the "goodness" from God.
What if He gives you "hardship"? Then, He's no kind anymore?
If this is a sweet thing, take it. If this is bitterness, you still have to take it.

I see now, I can't have all things the way I want, the way I think good for me.
Because I'm a f*cking human. What do I know about life?
All I can do is make sure I AM JOYFUL IN MY EVERY CONDITION. And IT'S ON ME, not any other person's obligation.

And I'm so into empowering myself.
After my CIMSA's NLS and TNT, I know I want more, more empowerment.
To actually make SDGs into real action.
To live my dream.

Winter is coming

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone. :)

Can't believe how fast 2015 went, but it did.

I know it's like I'm only blogging now when I'm about to have my block's exam, which at the time is about endocrine system, to be precise diabetic, thyroid, adrenal, metabolic syndrome, and nutrition. I actually find myself "having-more-information-receptors" on urgent situation like this than on study-week when I rarely finish my LO. :P

I do read, and study. But, eventually, I'm gonna see the bigger picture at the 6th week when I'm about having exam on 7th week. But, the information didn't all vanish after the MCQs, some sticks, and the other, yuph they vanish.
I guess that's the reason why I, and I guess everyone need to read.

Anyway, I was home for christmas.
And I found myself seeing how real patients do in real life, and kinda laughed to see how true House reacts to all his patients.

Anyway, I've been having this acne problem which I don't know why.
It led me to reading EBM articles on what drug should be used to "treat" acnes.
Because, when this problem first came, I went to see a dermatologist, and the treatment WORKED. But, I gotta be honest, they also MAKE MY MOTHER WORKS MORE to pay the bill. The I guess, I gotta see if there's another way, an evidence-based, non invasive, non-money-raping treatment.

So, I guess I'm gonna do the review after this thing works. :)

Again, HAPPY NEW YEAR.
HAPPY HOLIDAY.
HAPPY STUDYING!! :)

Perceived DD

Me : " Tungguin aku nyampek ya Mak, baru mulai acaranya.."
Mom : " Iya Nak, kami tungguin pun."

Hi all.
Sorry for the silence for such long time.
I would love to tell stories.

I'm currently doped with House MD.
It's a 2004-originated serie about a doctor, named Gregory House.
This sceptical-yet-at-the-same-time-brilliant son of his mother really makes my adrenaline runs out everytime the case gets desperately unfigured.

I had my first WDD, it was hectic and honestly there're a lot of corrections for next year's one.
Mean while, we are preparing ourselves for SPRING, it's a free circumcissions held by SCOPH CIMSA UNAND to the elementary sutudents in a selected area.
It'll take place in Koto Baru on December 20th.

And uh...
Sometime, we try so hard to hold on to what we believe-what we hope for- because we're not ready to bear the falling-apart just at the time.
Although we know exactly how it'll end, and sadly it doesn't even lessen the feeling.

Wellcome to the world.
Pick your own differential diagnoses.
At the end of the day, letting things fall by themselves and hoping for the best is all we have.
